We are Park View Surgery and our mission is to deliver excellent healthcare to our community.
Named Accountable GP
We are contractually required to allocate a named, accountable GP to all our patients. The name of your allocated GP will be the GP our system currently shows as ‘usual’ (You will see this on your repeat medication slip for example). It may be this is not necessarily the GP you see most regularly, but you need not worry. The contractual requirement does not impact on who you see or the continuity you currently receive and value in the practice.
If you are unsure of your usual/allocated GP, please do not hesitate to ask when you next have contact with us. We will also be notifying patients via text and email. We would be very grateful if you would update us with your details.
If you find the usual GP we have allocated to you is not who you see regularly, we will be happy to update your record to reflect your choice.
Medical Students
Park View Surgery provides placements for undergraduate medical students. Undergraduate medical students need opportunities to work with patients to develop their skills as clinicians. General practice provides an almost unique opportunity for students to meet patients with unsorted medical conditions, to develop diagnostic skills and with acute conditions, to explore issues of patient management with patients and their carers. You will be informed at the time of booking an appointment and when you arrive for your consultation if a medical student is working with your GP. The supervising GP will ask for your verbal consent for the student to talk to or examine you. You may refuse consent in which case the student will leave the consultation. Although the student may (in certain circumstances) propose a treatment plan, treatment can only be given legally by the GP.
